Disaster Response

The Volunteer Center participates in a regional collaboration with other Volunteer Centers serving the Bay Area. The Volunteer Centers are committed to providing community support in the event of catastrophic disaster and are prepared to serve as a resource center for agencies and volunteers that want to help in response to disaster. You may contact your local Volunteer Center through the links listed below:

In the East Bay, e-mail Lauren Lyon at lyon@helpnow.org or telephone her at (925) 472-5768. For any other Volunteer Center in the nation, call 1-800-Volunteer or click on Points of Light Foundation.

For general information about disaster preparedness and response, check out the city of Walnut Creek's Earthquake Preparedness Page. For even more information about disaster preparedness, visit the Community Preparedness Website Project.
